Magical Afternoon/Evening...

Today, I, as well as a couple <2>, of my friends went to The Amazing Pendragons Magic Show... (thinking about my last post... " see, 'Dragon' even appears in people's names...wth ?)
It was fun, although sometimes I didn't hear some parts which then made some of the tricks difficult to follow, but fun still...
They always save the best for last though because in the last trick they performed, Jonathan Pendragon was put into a bag and then into a chest, which was locked and a sword was also stuck in the lock...his wife(can't remember her name) then stood on the chest and held a big sheet in front of her...and then somehow, it was then Jonathan who held the sheet, and when he opened the chest...somehow...his wife(still can't remember) was inside..
It was probably more amazing to see it than to read about it...but it was the coolest trick..
It was also magical because of something else...but...heh...personal reasons prevent me from posting what it was...
Edit : I'll add pictures of it after I find my USB cord for the camera...

The Dragon's Twelve

The Dragon....a majestic creature...
Used in ideas for stories, pictures, clothing, games and basically anything to make it sound cooler...
On Monday, I heard about it being used for an exercise...The Dragon's Twelve
Wednesday I had the option of doing it...for a karate exam, no less.
That day, I carried a bottle of Gatorade...especially for that...
What exactly is the Dragon's Twelve ? It's a combination of exercises, which include 12 push-ups, 12 jack-knives (which is something like a crunch) and 12 squats...this might sound easy but it's not...because after that comes 11 push-ups, 11 jack-knives and 11 squats...then 10 of the above... going all the way to 1....and then when the Sensei makes the last 2 an insane challenge, it then, in that moment, becomes difficult....
I made it to 5 (ie alot of push-ups, jack-knives and squats), which I thought would've been impossible..
The result was that I was sore for the rest of the day...
I wonder if there's any Dragon Sports Balm for the next time I try it....it might help.

Video Fix.

Wow, I feel dumb now.
The cause of my problems with posting videos is that I was supposed to use the Embed link...not the normal one.. oh, well..at least you'll get the see the video without leaving the blog..

Strange titles...

I was just thinking about one of the bands I listen to.....Dance Gavin Dance.... and I was thinking about the name of the band itself and the names of some of their songs... and then I thought.... " What the hell ? "...... With names like " Lemon Meringue Tie " (my favourite song from them btw) and " Turn Off The Lights, I'm Watching Back To The Future. " .... it's just a little strange....

Dance Gavin Dance ? There isn't even anyone in the band (past or present) named Gavin...there is someone named Garren though....

In terms of the song names, the first thing that comes to mind is ( at least for me ) " Is there any meaning behind that ? "...let's look at "Lemon Meringue Tie.".... Lemon Meringue Pie is a tasty dessert that for some reason or the other, I'll include a picture of....
Looks good, right ? Of course it does, but this is beside the point...

The point is....what is " Lemon Meringue Tie " ? Well, it is an awesome song, but what does it all mean ?

Then " Turn Off The Lights, I'm Watching Back To The Future. ".... this is the weirdest and longest name I've heard for a song....ever. Other questions like " Why would they call it that ? " come to mind, but it all leads back to the meaning of it....unless they just called it the first thing they thought about....

What does the 1985 movie exactly have to do with the song ? It probably means something since they included it in the lyrics....

".......Purge, then binge, restart and, insert the sutures
Turn off the lights, I'm watching back to the future
Before we go to far I wont let you take this light
Breath in all mistakes without coming clean.... "

...... or maybe nothing.

Chances are though that it means something and I just can't see it.....

While they have some of the weirdest song names ("The Backwards Pumpkin Song", "Suprise ! I'm from Cuba, Everyone Has One Brain. " and others....) they rock really hard...so find them, listen to them and maybe you'll like them....but then again, you might not..

Inspect the Gadget..

I hope everyone notices and enjoys the new gadget I put in my blog....
If you don't see it, you're probably blind....but I'll give you detailed instructions on how to find it...
Scroll to the bottom of the blog. DONE.
Then, you'll see the gadget... " I power Blogger. " .... Ha, I'm so important to Blogger that they gave me a sticker to put on my blog.

Videos ?

Apparently I have to actually HAVE the video for it to display on my blog...can't just post the link...that's kinda suck though..
I'll have to work on this tomorrow, it's late...I need sleep before my head slams against the keyboard.

Current Favourite Song (22/May/2009)

Franz Ferdinand - Ulysses... one of the best songs ever..... "I'll find a new way, I'll find a new way baby. "

Alex Kapranos of the band commented - Tonight: Franz Ferdinand is music of the night: to fling yourself around your room to as you psyche yourself for a night of hedonism, for the dance-floor, flirtation, for your desolate heart-stop, for losing it and loving losing it, for the chemical surge in your bloodstream. Its for that lonely hour gently rocking yourself waiting for dawn and it all to be even again.

Fools...

Finally the week is over and the weekend is here, and finally I'm home...
I recently came home from a play, elaborately named "Fools".......
it's set in Russia, in a small town named Kulyenchikov and about a young teacher, Leon Tolchinsky, who moves there...
not too long after he arrives, full of energy to teach (cause that's what teachers do..), he realizes that everyone in the town (all 7 of them) are all fools (I wonder if that's the inspiration for the title... ?)..... he finds out from the local doctor (who is also a fool, but a smart one) that they're all fools due to a curse that was put on the village some 200 years ago (isn't that how it always works ?) and that the only way to break it is for his daughter, Sofia Zubritsky, to marry the evil Count Yousekevitch (who is the last descendant of the Yousekevitch clan, the same clan who put the curse on the village... and is 79, where Sofia looks no older than 17...strange...)
Leon then met Sofia and instantly fell in love....he then had to leave because the Count was coming to propose (which he does twice daily, a little persistant ?).....
The rest of the play is about Leon trying to educate Sofia so he could break the curse, which is impossible to do....
It was a funny play with light romance and shows that no matter how stupid someone is....love conquers all (if only that were true lol)...
Sadly, I can't put any pics of it up because I've lost my USB cable for my camera, but you wouldn't miss much because it's sorta old...

Marvel vs Capcom 2... !

I've recently heard that Marvel vs Capcom 2 is coming to the PSN (Playstation Network for those of you who don't know).... while I may be a little late on that (I never actually heard when this was released) I just wanted to write on it...I've never owned MvC2 before but I've played it a couple times and it looks awesome, now that they're bringing it to the PSN, that actually means that I can get it...whoo !
But....what about other classics ? Although they've already put two of my favourites (Suikoden and Hot Shots Golf 2) on the PSN, I'm sitting and wondering " What about Marvel vs Capcom 1... or Marvel vs Street Fighter ? "

Life Without Snow...

Not too long ago, I was chatting with a friend of mine who lives around Ontario and she found it hard to believe that it doesn't snow here nor have I ever seen snow...
What's so hard to believe about that ? For some reason, that doesn't strike me as odd, not in the least, but I suppose for someone who has grown up with snow, it can be a little strange.
Although, I don't plan to continue this "Life Without Snow" till death....that'd just be, for lack of a better word, strange.
Some people hate snow and I can't exactly see the reason why anyone would hate snow... it's cold, powdery/fluffy...and, again for lack of a better word, awesome.
Since I've never been near snow, the closest being some feet away when I last saw it on tv, I don't exactly know what if feels like (except cold).... but I'm going on my instinct (which may be wrong) on what it feels like...
But one question remains on my mind...." How long will I have to go on with this ' Life Without Snow' ? "

Updates coming soon...

I apologize to those who follow my story blog ( http://www.notafraidofmyreflection.blogspot.com/ )... in between all the work and laziness (lol) I've been unable to post anything new to it since "Preview at 11:42" ....but you needn't (<<<<<< is that even a real word ?) fear...I'll be back on track soon.

Another week...

And so, another week begins...let the torture begin....
Some may say that I'm cynical...that's probably because I am sometimes...
Today, for the most part, WAS torture, (mostly talking about english and chemistry) but I think that it's a conspiracy, they're all out to get me... *eye twitches*
And while I'm kidding about that (for the most part).....things aren't so great in english or chemistry....
I would rant about it or at least say what happened....but just about anyone has access to a computer and internet, and since I've been spreading word about my blog like wild-fire... I don't think it'd be wise to include names or details (heck, even my english teacher has a blog...wth ?)..... I might make another blog in the future, though, in which I'll rant to my heart's content but keep a complete secret from everyone and everything....maybe.

Wow...

Ok...I just suffered through one of the most boring weekends ever...
I feel like my brain's gonna collapse from boredom.... lol.
But at least the net's up...and my brain hasn't collapsed...

Weekend's here !

Finally ! The week's over....today was the hardest though...I was physically abused, I was punched in the stomach, hit in the leg with a broom-stick, stepped on (several times) and yelled at.....
(for identity reasons, I'll exclude my getting punched in the stomach...)
Today we had karate (lucky me..) and while I wasn't exactly feeling to go, I went against my instinct and started taking off my shoes to get ready for karate.
Sensei (japanese for "teacher" and a form of respect) told us to partner up with someone around our height, two of my friends approached me telling me to choose who I wanted for my partner..but before I could think about it, the Sensei walks by and chooses the shorter one as my partner (who is a little crazy, imo) and then he tells us to line up and we get started...
We did one-step sparring...exciting...but what made it even better is that Sensei decided that "pain would help us to learn" so he got a broom stick and started whacking people...
One time, I happened to be out of stance..and *whack* I got hit...this was the least of my problems...
Sensei , for probably no apparent reason, decided that the whole class needed some pain...so he tells us all to lie down...Eh ?
After we're down, he calls the heaviest person in the class and tells him to walk on our stomachs....and then, he starts walking down the line of bodies like a steam-roller ( I personally have nothing against him but he's about to walk on my stomach and possibly kill me) and then he puts his massive foot in the centre of my stomach, winding me, and then moves off....
Then, guess what....he calls 3 others guys, and tells them to walk on our stomachs too....great...

Well, at least it's over....until maybe next week...

Hypnotism...As real as Pro Wrestling ?

Today, after a mind-numbing day at school...I've been thinking about hypnotists and hypnotism (obviously you can tell from the Title..) and the fact that it's probably all just a sham...of course I could be completely wrong but it's my opinion and my blog...so too bad...
Let's think logically for a minute...someone...trains...or learns...how to control another person's actions...by waving a watch in front of them and/or by talking to them calmly.... heck...I speak to people calmly all the time and I never see anyone drop-kicking the karate teacher....
Then...is it even possible to get someone to do anything you want..."cluck like a chicken"....."you are now 6 years old".....under normal circumstances ? I know you're probably thinking " But what about the watch ? The watch has mystical powers ! " but waving a watch will do nothing but get the person annoyed...
Next thing...do you ever realize that no matter how much you try to be a volunteer, you never get picked ?
Well, I don't know if it's just me (it probably might be...) but I never get picked....
That's because hypnotists (on a professional scale, i.e Vegas etc.) have special people who they call on to be their "volunteers"...and of course, it'd look suspicious if the same people show up to every show and they get called on everytime, so they have other people to rotate the volunteers....
And that's basically the long and short of my thoughts/rant....kinda sucks, don't it ?
But I did find something on hypnotism, I haven't tried it and probably won't now or in the near future, from "The Anarchist Cookbook 2005"....

Note : I'm not into anarchy nor do I practice it, I just happen to have it because the title looked interesting and I was too young (or naive) to know what arachy was when I got it. End Note.
Note 2 : This is slightly edited from the original version (they didn't say anything about editing), but the original value is still there....

66. A Guide to Hypnotism by The Jolly Roger
What hypnotism is?

Hypnotism, contrary to common belief, is merely state when your mind and body are in a state of relaxation and your mind is open to positive, or cleverly worded negative, influences. It is not a trance where you:
Are totally influenceable.
Cannot lie.
A sleep which you cannot wake up from without help.
This may bring down your hope somewhat, but, hypnotism is powerful for self help, and/or mischief.

Your subconscious mind
Before going in further, I'd like to state that hypnotism not only is great in the way that it relaxes you and gets you (in the long run) what you want, but also that it taps a force of incredible power, believe it or not, this power is your subconscious mind. The subconscious mind always knows what is going on with every part of your body, every moment of the day. It protects you from negative influences, and retains the power to slow your heartbeat down and stuff like that. The subconscious mind holds just about all the info you would like to know
About yourself, or, in this case, the person you will be hypnotizing. There are many ways to talk to your subconscious and have it talk back to you. One way is the ouja board, no its not a spirit, merely the minds of those who are using it. Another, which I will discuss here, is the pendulum method. OK, here is how it goes. First, get a ring or a washer and tie it to a thread a little longer than half of your forearm. Now, take a sheet of paper and draw a big circle in it. In the big circle you must now draw a crosshair (a big +). Now, put the sheet of paper on a table. Next, hold the thread with the ring or washer on it and place it (holding the thread so that the ring is 1 inch above the paper swinging) in the middle of the crosshair. Now, swing the thread so the washer goes up and down, say to yourself the word "Yes" now, do it side to side and say the word "no". Do it counter clockwise and say "I don't know". And lastly, do it clockwise and say "I don't want to say." Now, with the thread back in the middle of the crosshair, ask yourself questions and wait for the pendulum to swing in the direction for the answer. (yes, no, I don't know or I don't want to say...). Soon, to your amazement, it will be answering questions like anything... Let the pendulum answer, don't try.. When you try you will never get an answer. Let the answer come to you.

How to induce hypnotism
Now that you know how to talk to your subconscious mind, I will now tell you how to guide someone into hypnosis. Note that I said guide, you can never, hypnotize someone, they must be willing. OK, the subject must be lying or sitting in a comfortable position, relaxed, and at a time when things aren't going to be interrupted. Tell them the following or something close to it, in a peaceful, monotonous tone (not a commanding tone of voice)
Note: Light a candle and place it somewhere where it can be easily seen.
"Take a deep breath through your nose and hold it in for a count of 8. Now, through your mouth, exhale completely and slowly. Continued breathing long, deep, breaths through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Tense up all your muscles very tight, now, counting from ten to one, release them slowly, you will find them very relaxed. Now, look at the candle, as you look at it, with every breath and passing moment, you are feeling increasingly more and more peaceful and relaxed. The candles flame is peaceful and bright. As you look at it I will count from 100 down, as a count, your eyes will become more and more relaxed, getting more and more tired with each passing moment." Now, count down from 100, about every 10 numbers say "When I reach xx your eyes (or you will find your eyes) are becoming more and more tired." Tell them they may close their eyes whenever they feel like it. If the persons eyes are still open when you get to 50 then instead of saying "your eyes will.." Say "your eyes are...". When their eyes are shut say the following. "As you lie (or sit) here with your eyes comfortably close you find yourself relaxing more and more with each moment and breath. The relaxation feels pleasant and blissful so, you happily give way to this wonderful feeling. Imagine yourself on a cloud, resting peacefully, with a slight breeze caressing your body. A tingling sensation begins to work its way, within and without your toes, it slowly moves up your feet, making them warm, heavy and relaxed. The cloud is soft and supports your body with its soft texture, the scene is peaceful and absorbing, the peacefulness absorbs you completely. The tingling gently and slowly moves up your legs, relaxing them. Making them warm and heavy. The relaxation feels very good, it feels so good to relax and let go. As the tingling continues its journey up into your solar plexus, you feel your inner stomach become very relaxed. Now, it moves slowly into your chest, making your breathing relaxed as well. The feeling begins to move up your arms to your shoulders, making your arms heavy and relaxed as well. You are aware of the total relaxation you are now experiencing, and you give way to it. It is good and peaceful, the tingling now moves into your face and head, relaxing your jaws, neck, and facial muscles, making your cares and worries float away. Away into the blue sky as you rest blissfully on the cloud." If they are not responsive or you think they (he or she) is going to sleep, then add in a "...always concentrating upon my voice, ignoring all other sounds. Even though other sounds exists, they aid you in your relaxation..." They should soon let out a sigh as if they were letting go, and their face should have a "woodiness" to it, becoming featureless... Now, say the following "... You now find yourself in a hallway, the hallway is peaceful and nice. As I count from 10 to 1 you will imagine yourself walking further and further down the hall. When I reach one you will find yourself where you want to be, in another, higher state of conscious and mind. (count from ten to one)..." Do this about three or four times. Then, to test if the subject is under hypnosis or not, say "... You feel a strange sensation in your (arm they write with) arm, the feeling begins at your fingers and slowly moves up your arm, as it moves through your arm your arm becomes lighter and lighter, it will soon be so light it will ... becoming lighter and lighter which each breath and moment..." Their fingers should begin to twitch and then move up, the arm following, now my friend, you have him/her in hypnosis. The first time you do this, while he/she is under say good things, like: "Your going to feel great tomorrow" or "Every day in every way you will find yourself becoming better and better".. Or some crap like that... The more they go under, the deeper in hypnosis they will get each time you do it.

What to do when hypnotized
When you have them under you must word things very carefully to get your way. You cannot simply say... Take off your clothes and **** the pillow. No, that would not really do the trick. You must say something like.... "you find your self at home, in your room and you have to take a shower (vividly describe their room and what's happening), you begin to take off your clothes..." Now, it can't be that simple, you must know the persons house, room, and shower room. Then describe things vividly and tell them to act it out (they have to be deeply under to do this). I would just suggest that you experiment a while, and get to know how to do things.

Waking up
Waking up is very easy, just say "...as I count from 1 to 5 you will find yourself becoming more and more awake, more and more lively. When you wake up you will find yourself completely alive, awake, and refreshed. Mentally and physically, remembering the pleasant sensation that hypnosis brings... Waking up feeling like a new born baby, reborn with life and vigor, feeling excellent. Remembering that next time you enter hypnosis it will become an ever increasing deeper and deeper state than before.
1.You feel energy course throughout your limbs.
2.You begin to breathe deeply, stirring.
3.Beginning to move more and more your eyes open, bringing you up to full conscious.
4.You are up, up, up and awakening more and more.
5.You are awake and feeling great.
And that's it! You now know how to hypnotize yourself and someone else.
You will learn more and more as you experiment.

Mother's Day

Just came back from church (yup, I'm a church-goer) and wanted to wish all my viewers (even if I'm the only one) a Happy Mother's Day...what would we do without them ? Not live..that's what.

And now, some Mother's Day jokes...

Things Mom Would Never Say
1. "How on earth can you see the TV sitting so far back?"
2. "Yeah, I used to skip school a lot, too"
3. "Just leave all the lights on ... it makes the house look more cheery"
4. "Let me smell that shirt -- Yeah, it's good for another week"
5. "Go ahead and keep that stray dog, honey. I'll be glad to feed and walk him every day"
6. "Well, if Timmy's mom says it's OK, that's good enough for me."
7. "The curfew is just a general time to shoot for. It's not like I'm running a prison around here."
8. "I don't have a tissue with me ... just use your sleeve"
9. "Don't bother wearing a jacket - the wind-chill is bound to improve"

Well, from personal experience...I could safely say that one of these isn't true...heh.

First Blog...

Hey first-time readers, fans, haters, family, friends and anyone I left out...
I just made a blog...awesome....now what do I do ?
I suppose I'll add music or videos or...something to this blog...(never had a blog before so I'll just learn as I go along)
